The City of Stonnington’s draft Cycling Strategy(External link) has been developed following a community consultation program in early-2019.

The 2019 consultation attracted survey responses from 526 community members, sharing their cycling habits and initiatives they believe Council should prioritise. Read results from the 2019 consultation here(External link).

The resulting draft Cycling Strategy(External link) contains commitments that reflect the community feedback and support evidence-based research for best practice initiatives.

The draft strategy aims “to increase the number of people cycling in Stonnington, with a focus on improving safety”.

To achieve this, the draft strategy has three major areas of focus:

  • Safer cycling along the Chapel Street corridor
  • Paths that everyone can feel comfortable using
  • Delivery of the Strategic Cycling Corridors through state investment
