Second all weather playing field set to be open 2017

Works have commenced on a second all weather multi-purpose synthetic playing field at Wayne Richards Park; a key project within Council’s adopted Recreation Action Plan.

The new field will provide opportunity for all ages including school use, club training and weekly games and built to a standard that can provide opportunities to host sporting events and competitions.

The new field will have a synthetic turf surface and provide a field primarily for hockey and designed to enable recreational use by other sporting groups.

The project will include kerbing, footpaths and ramps to cater for those with mobility needs.

Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed in April 2017.
