Council has developed a Coastal Management Control Plan for Lake Cathie for areas which are subject to coastal hazards.

Following investigation a number of planning controls are proposed to minimise future damage to private development, to manage safety and to limit the impacts on the environment from coastal storm events.

The proposed changes will provide a higher level of consistency when assessing Development Applications and include a set trigger points to initiate removal of relocatable properties.

Changes that are adopted by Council to the draft Coastal Management Development Control Plan (DCP) will be integrated into Council's existing DCP (2013) and will replace the existing Lake Cathie Coastal Hazard Interim Planning Guidelines.
