Gardiners Creek Masterplan

We're planning the future for Gardiners Creek

The City of Stonnington is preparing a masterplan for Gardiners Creek and the surrounding area.

The proposed masterplan will set a course to transform this important waterway and green corridor through extensive revegetation and biodiversity works, water sensitive urban design, shared path upgrades and improvements to enhance passive and active recreation.

In recent years Council has invested more than $7 million in the award-winning Yarra River Biodiversity Project, to improve water quality, increase habitat connectivity and enhance recreation and education opportunities for the community.

As the Yarra River Biodiversity Project comes to an end, Council is looking to extend regeneration work along Gardiners Creek, again to protect and enhance biodiversity and to support community connection to this area.

We are currently finalising a draft masterplan.
